What are Low-E glasses?
When we think of window types: profile, size and other aesthetic qualities every time come to our mind. However, Low-E glass plays an equally important role and significantly affects the overall performance of a window and the total costs of heating, lighting and cooling a home.
Low-emissivity glass (or Low-E glass) is double or triple transparent glass, to which an invisible metal coating has been added, which allows the outer light to pass through, but blocks the radiant heat coming from inside house. Low-emissivity glass can be used with argon gas. The main benefit of Low-E glass is that it lowers energy costs. Such insulating glass not only lowers heating costs in winter, but also reduces the amount of solar heat in summer, which reduces the need for air conditioning.
